It's as big a question as "what will you serve at the halfway party"; when are the starts? After working hard with best estimates of ratings and likely dropouts, our team has provided a listing of boats by division and official start time.
The Holo Holo Cruising Division will be the first to start on Sunday, July 6, 2014, and will be followed with starts of the ‘Iwi Double-Handed and Alaska Airlines divisions on Monday, July 7th, the Weems & Plath, Matson, and Kolea Double-Handed divisions on Tuesday, July 8th, theHokulea Multihull and Sonnen BMW divisions on Thursday
Point Richmond, CA , June 6, 2014 -- The Pacific Cup Yacht Club (PCYC) and Richmond Yacht Club (RYC) are pleased to announce the release of the RYCPacCup app for Android mobile devices. Developed through a partnership between PCYC and RYC, the app provides quick mobile access to information about the events and services at the RYC Pac Cup Village, local marine services and suppliers, restaurants, the Pacific Cup web site and more. The app will be especially useful to competitors from outside the Bay Area, who are berthed at RYC.

Point Richmond, CA, June 4, 2014 – The Pacific Cup Yacht Club (PCYC) has announced starting dates and divisions for the 2014 race from San Francisco Bay to Kaneohe, Hawaii. Sixty boats are currently entered in the 18th edition of the “Fun Race to Hawaii.”
The first start, on Sunday, July 6th, will be the new Holo Holo (Hawaiian for “just walking around and having fun”) Cruising Division. The Alaska Airlines Division and ‘Iwi Double-handed Division start Monday the 7th, followed by the Weems & Plath Division, Matson Division and Kolea Double-handed Division on Tuesday, July

USSailing sanctioned Safety at Sea Seminar by PCYC is scheduled for May 18. It will be held at Encinal Yacht Club with signups open now. This, or one like it, is REQUIRED for a portion of the crew for a Category 1 race, including the Pacific Cup.
Moderated by the ebullient Chuck Hawley, the session is chock-full of useful info for ocean racers of any stripe. We need to give firm numbers to EYC this weekend, so we must raise the course fee Saturday. Sign up today so you don't get frozen or priced out.
