The 2016 edition of the FUN race to Hawaii will start July 11, 2016. This date provides an optimum blend of ebb at the start, full moonlight, and (cross your fingers here) a well-defined Pacific High to speed our racers to the welcoming shores of Kaneohe Bay. As usual, the slowest boats will start on the eleventh, with faster boats starting later in the week, all designed to arrive around July 22 or later.

Several teams are known to have begun their preparations.  Key to many efforts are our Pacific Offshore Academy seminars.  Dates for the 2015 sessions have been selected as well:

Trophies Awarded for the 2014 Pacific Cup

Kaneohe, Hawaii, July 27, 2014 – The Friday night awards ceremony and party at Kaneohe Yacht Club (KYC) featured not only trophies for racing performance but also a number of special awards to recognize participation and contributions to the Pacific Cup.
 
Each of the boats in this year’s first-ever Holo Holo cruising division received an award based on input from their cruising logs.  Best Performance went to skipper Michael Chobotov’s Venture, a Jeanneau 49, which led the entire Pacific Cup fleet across the ocean until less than 100


An interesting and sometimes dramatic race cycle reaches its crescendo tonight with the distribution of awards at Kaneohe Yacht Club. Race teams and supporters, often decked out in matching team aloha shirts, will mingle before taking a seat under the big tent or in the longhouse for presentations of performance awards and special prizes.

New for 2014 are the PHRF and ORR performance trophies. As the Pacific Cup trophy overall is awarded based on "Certified PHRF" for which not all boats are eligible, and moreover attempts to cover a very broad range of race conditions, race organizers decided
