Attention Offshore Sailors, Cruisers and Racers
Back by Popular Demand: the Pacific Offshore Academy will continue its highly-regarded seminar series with two events scheduled in 2013, addressing many topics key to any offshore voyage. The dates for 2013 will be June 23 and October 19.
These seminars pack a lot of expert knowledge into an afternoon of concentrated presentations to provide essential skills and knowledge for any sailor heading out to sea, whether racing, rallying or cruising. The information presented will help you whether you are doing the Pacific Cup, Transpac, Coastal Cup, or any other Pacific Ocean race, or elsewhere! Topics will cover safety to performance to creature comforts.
The recent accidents off the California coast serve as a reminder that even experienced sailors need to review best practices. As before, all speakers’ material will be available on-line prior to the seminar to allow familiarity with the subject for greater understanding of each topic. This allows time to cover more detailed examples and highlights during the format presentations as well as a chance for attendees to review the material afterwards. See materials from prior sessions, and videos, in our Knowledgebase.
In addition, we will continue the popular break-out format to allow all attendees a chance to talk one-on-one with the speakers, moderators and other sailors in small discussion groups where specific questions can be answered in a format encouraging in-depth discussion.
Whether you are preparing for your first major ocean passage or you are a veteran interested in improving your game, you will find invaluable information and make useful and enjoyable contacts among speakers, moderators and other sailors. Join us!
