Richmond, CA, July 16, 2015 – The Pacific Cup Yacht Club (PCYC) is pleased to announce Passage Nautical as the sponsor of the Beneteau racing class for the 2016 Pacific Cup race from San Francisco, CA to Kaneohe, Oahu, Hawaii. The FUN race to Hawaii begins in less than one year, with staggered starts scheduled between July 11-16, 2016.
“As the San Francisco Bay Area dealer for Beneteau boats, we are delighted to be a part of this exciting ocean race,” said Passage Nautical president Deborah Reynolds. “Over the years, many Beneteaus have sailed in the Pacific Cup – they’re perfect boats for the passage to Hawaii, and we encourage Beneteau owners to sign up and compete for our new trophy for the Best Corrected Performance by a Beneteau.”
“As a four-time Pacific Cup racer, I can attest to the joy and exhilaration of crossing the turquoise blue Pacific Ocean in my Beneteau 423, Tiki Blue,” said PCYC Commodore Gary Troxel, “Enjoying the warm trade winds, and surfing the following seas with spinnaker runs that last for days just can’t be beat – I’m looking forward to a fifth race in 2016 and hope to see more Beneteau entries.”

There are currently five Beneteaus entered in the race, and with just under a year to the first start there’s still time to enter in either racing or cruising divisions and take advantage of the personal level of pre-race support provided by PCYC. In addition, Passage Nautical representatives are available to provide an array of services to Pacific Cup participants, from brokerage services to ASA approved sailing courses.
