Pt. Richmond, CA, June 9, 2015 – The Pacific Cup Yacht Club (PCYC) is pleased to announce the return of Alaska Airlines as the official airline sponsor of the 2016 Pacific Cup race from San Francisco, CA to Kaneohe, Oahu, Hawaii.

The race, dubbed the FUN race to Hawaii, is slated to start in a staggered format from San Francisco, CA between July 11-16, 2016. Once again, the company will be sponsoring the Alaska Airlines racing division, and they will also be the title sponsor of PCYC's Pacific Offshore Academy (POA), a series of preparation seminars for race participants that kicks off on June 13, 2015.

"We are delighted to welcome Alaska Airlines back as a sponsor of the 2016 Pacific Cup," said Gary Troxel, 2016 PCYC Commodore. "Their support for the 2014 race was tremendous, and many racers, their family and friends took advantage of the special discounted airfares to and from Honolulu, as well as the tickets raffled off at the fantastic Alaska Airlines pre-race party." In addition to providing discounted airfares again for 2016, the carrier will sponsor Alaska Airlines Night at the Pacific Cup Village prior to the start of the race. Featuring regional food from the Pacific Northwest and Alaska, this event will include a raffle of Alaska Airlines tickets to any of their destinations.
